How RUB A DUB collects, uses and protects your information. Last updated November 3, 2026.
Who we are
RUB A DUB Holdings, Inc. (“RUB A DUB”, “we”) runs the rubadub.com website and the RUB A DUB mobile app, a marketplace for car care services delivered to vehicles at commercial locations and homes. Questions about this policy go to info@rubadub.com or (571) 336-7059.
What we collect
- Account details: name, email address and mobile number, so we can sign you in and tell you about your bookings.
- Vehicles and locations: make, model, colour, plate, the building or address where the car is parked, parking level and space, and how we access the car.
- Bookings and payments: the services you order, when, the amount, tips and ratings. Card details are entered directly with Stripe, our payment processor; they never touch our servers.
- Location: with your permission, your device location to show nearby hubs and, for providers, nearby jobs and distance sorting. Providers who go online share their location while they are online.
- Photos: providers photograph each car before and after a service. The photos are attached to that booking and shown to you.
- Provider onboarding: for people who work with us, the documents required to work (identity, insurance) and, for contractors, the identity and tax details Stripe collects for payouts.
- Device and usage data: push notification tokens, app version and basic diagnostics so the app works and notifications arrive.
How we use it
- To deliver the service you booked, route it to a provider and keep you informed by email, text and push notification.
- To charge the agreed amount and pay providers.
- To keep the marketplace safe: before-and-after photos, ratings and support follow-up.
- To send occasional reminders and offers. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link; service messages about a booking are not marketing.
Who sees it
- Providers see your first name, the vehicle, the service and where the car is. They never see your email address or phone number.
- Property partners whose buildings host RUB A DUB see only aggregate usage, never individual customers.
- Service providers we rely on: Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments and payouts), Resend (email), Expo (push notification delivery) and Twilio (text messages) process data on our behalf under their own security commitments.
- We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with advertisers.
Your choices
- Location and notification permissions are controlled in your phone’s settings and the app works without them, with fewer conveniences.
- You can view and update your vehicles, saved spots and contact details in the app or at app.rubadub.com.
- To delete your account, open Account in the app and tap “Delete my account”; it is removed immediately. You can also email info@rubadub.com from the address on the account. We keep only what tax and payment rules require us to retain (receipts for completed services).
Keeping it safe
Data is stored in the United States with encryption in transit and at rest. Access inside RUB A DUB is limited to the people who need it to run the service. Row-level permissions in our database enforce who can see what; providers and customers only ever read their own bookings.
Children
RUB A DUB is for adults who own or drive a car. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
When this policy changes we update the date at the top and, for material changes, tell you in the app or by email.
